Program Overview: MAN-UP is a transformative initiative aimed at addressing the critical issues of oppression, suppression, and depression affecting men's mental health. This comprehensive two-part program is designed to empower young men aged 14-20 and adult men aged 21 and older by providing them with essential coping mechanisms and fostering emotional expression.


Target Audience:

  • Young Men (Ages 14-20): The first part of the program focuses on prevention, equipping younger participants with the tools to navigate the challenges of adolescence and early adulthood. It emphasizes the importance of mental well-being and encourages open discussions about emotions and mental health.
  • Adult Men (Ages 21 and Older): The second part of the program is tailored for older men, focusing on teaching advanced coping skills and promoting self-expression. This segment aims to help participants confront societal pressures and personal struggles, fostering a supportive environment for growth and healing.


Core Themes:

  1. Manhood: Exploring the concept of masculinity and redefining what it means to be a man in today's society.
  2. Brotherhood: Building a sense of community and support among participants, encouraging them to share experiences and learn from one another.
  3. Fatherhood: Addressing the responsibilities and challenges of being a father, while promoting healthy relationships with children and family.

Goals:

  • To reduce the stigma surrounding mental health issues among men.
  • To provide practical skills for managing stress, anxiety, and emotional challenges.
  • To create a safe space for men to express their feelings and experiences.
  • To foster a culture of understanding, support, and empowerment among men of all ages.


Through MAN-UP, participants will gain valuable insights and tools to enhance their mental health, build meaningful connections, and navigate the complexities of manhood in a supportive environment.

This 18-week course outline provides a structured approach to learning audio production, ensuring that students gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills across various aspects of the industry. Also, the students will record and  produce two live International Jazz Jams, and each week builds on the previous one, culminating in a final project that showcases their learning and creativity.
